Representations of Father Time were common on jacquemarts. When the pendant on this watch is pressed, two concealed putti jacquemarts (mechanized figures) alternately strike Father Time's sickles with their hammers.

Text Entries
As one might expect, representations of Father Time were common on jacquemarts. In the aperture over the dial on this watch, Father Time, holding two sickles while his right arm rests on an hourglass, sits between columns in a stage-like area with a curtain visible above. When the pendant is pressed, two concealed putti  jacquemarts strike the sickles with their hammers- first one, then the other. Father Time is rendered in yellow and rose gold. The surface of the dial is worked in a woven pattern with chapters on white enamel reserves. On either side of the dial is a cornucopia overflowing with flowers. The back of the case is engine turned.
